1965 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray 327/365hp Convertible VIN: 194675S121795, Engine no. 5121795 F0527HG Nassau Blue with Bright Blue Interior Introduced for the 1963 model year, the C2 generation of Corvette was an instant hit. The car carried over the excellent engines from1962, but the remainder of the car was new, with now iconic styling and independent rear suspension. In 1963 and 1964, all cars were equipped with 327cid engines, and the most powerful of these was the variant equipped with Rochester fuel injection. This option commanded a significant premium (over 10% of the base price of the car) and was the most expensive option available other than the Z06 option. In 1965, the Corvette received disc brakes all around for the first time, addressing a longtime area of criticism of the car, particularly considering its significant power ratings. 1965 also marked the arrival of the 425hp 396cid big block engines, which was a more cost effective way to big horsepower than the injected small-block since the big block engine was a $292.70 option and fuel injection was a $538.00 option. This particular convertible car is equipped with white soft top, original Nassau Blue hard top, 327/365hp, 4-speed transmission, power antenna, the differential is AO 3.70 positraction stamped 12-3-64 from the factory, Stainless Steel brakes, AM/FM radio, day/night mirror, side mount exhaust system, tinted glass all windows, steel wheels, hub caps, and Coker classic white wall radial tires. Most all factory correct type components including the spare, floor mats, washer system, shifter, shielding, fuel filter, Bowtie mirror, glove box door, owners manual, and T-3 headlights. This Corvette had some body panels painted lacquer in 1980. The car retains approximately 70% of original paint. The Corvette has a very nice, never damaged GM body and rust-free frame. The GM official production date was July 9, 1965. The original delivery Dealer was Smith Chevrolet in Vacaville, California (dealer code 595 in zone 6) per the official NCRS/GM shipping data report (SDR). The Corvette body number is S7143, indicating that it was made in the St. Louis plant that made most of the bodies. This car was in the San Francisco Bay Area of California for many years and the last few years in Kentucky. This car is in very nice shape and presents extremely nicely. The paint is mostly original and the paint work that was done is very nice. The chrome is excellent, as are the brakes, wheels, tires, and glass. The original interior is also very nice. The seats have been reupholsted with Leather and is excellent, as is the dashboard. The carpets are very good, and instruments and switches are excellent as well. The original door panels are excellent. The engine compartment is original and extremely clean and has been keep very nicely detailed. Correct finishes are applied on the engine, and the components are not over-restored. Looks, runs, and drives excellent.
